An auction not to be missed at Sotheby’s
The princess grew up with the large collection of contemporary art of her mother Mariae Gloria and Sotheby’s asked Elizabeth von Thurn and Taxis to wear the Magnificent Jewels at auction in Geneva on November 13th.
Among the 450 pieces on sale also period jewels, 1920s and contemporary. Such as, for example, an Art Deco bracelet by Cartier from 1927 set with a Burmese sapphire cabochon weighing 46.07 carats and two diamonds of 8.60 and 9.27 carats.
And also the precious blue stone that adorns a fan-shaped 1937 Cartier brooch, with a cushion-cut sapphire of 9.09 carats, other sapphires of different sizes, and brilliant-cut diamonds and baguettes. Also by Cartier is the thirties necklace-diadem with a removable and perforated central panel, while the emerald pendant / brooch is dated 1927 and the seventies is an imposing necklace of emeralds and diamonds.
The Bulgari necklace with diamonds and sapphires is also splendid, while there are also some stones to leave you breathless, like a 3 carat blue diamond mounted on a ring and estimated at between 7 and 4.7 million Swiss francs.
