Watchmaking: luxury and sustainability
Millennials and the younger generations have shown particular interest in craftsmanship over the last ten years. Moreover, as shown in the last sector trade shows, high-end products seem to have embraced the world of sustainability.
Hermès debuted this year at Sihh with a stand made of recycled photovoltaic cells, the carbon used for some Ulysse Nardin models is recycled, while carbon is the Panerai material used for the watch created for Luna Rossa with the indices that they reflect the concept of circular economy. Environmental and social sustainability but also history among the trends in the sector: in fact, in 2019, the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, have inspired many new models and watch mechanisms.
