Vision & Virtuosity: the exhibition on Tiffany in Shanghai
Defined as an authentic immersive experience that pays tribute to Tiffany’s past, Vision & Virtuosity will take visitors into the brand’s world, including its archives, amid installations representing the highlights that made history and the innovations and many “first times”, such as the Tiffany® Setting engagement ring.
A themed itinerary subdivided into six chapters on the brand’s long history amid design and artisan master skills.
The star of one chapter is Tiffany Blue®, the iconic robin-egg blue, to discover the traditional coloured precious stones like the sapphires from Montana and tanzanites that Tiffany presented to the world in 1968.
And space has also been given to the iconic influence that Tiffany had on the cinema, TV, music and literature and the workmanship that characterizes the high-jewellery items in the Blue Book collection, including the original from 1845, the first mail-order catalogue in the United States, and the exceptional creations of Jean Schlumberger and Elsa Peretti.
The Tiffany Love room celebrates love and stories from all over the world among weddings, anniversaries and engagements, while in the Breakfast at Tiffany’s hall, visitors travel behind the scenes of the famous film with exclusive items from the original set, personal notes by Audrey Hepburn® and photos of the scene in the flagship store on Fifth Avenue.
Lastly, the Diamonds room: Miracles of Nature can be observed in the brand’s most precious and important diamonds from the Gilded Age to the Art Deco period up to contemporary models.
The exhibition culminates with the most valuable jewel, the Tiffany Diamond, a fancy yellow, 128.54 carat diamond which has long been a source of inspiration and starting point for Tiffany jewellery collections.
