Vicenzaoro's 70th anniversary breaks all records
Vicenzaoro January 2024 exceeded all optimistic expectations, closing with a 3% increase in attendance at the exhibition center in Vicenza, surpassing the record-setting edition of the previous January.
For this edition as well, six out of ten visitors are from abroad, confirming Vicenza as an essential meeting place in the jewellery industry. Foreign attendance remains at 60% of the total, representing 141 countries worldwide. Europe accounts for 53%, the Middle East for 9.3%, Asia for 10.5%, Turkey for 8%, North America for 7.2%, and Latin America for 5.1%, with Africa contributing 4.9%.
Among the most represented individual countries are the United States and Turkey; from Europe: Spain, Germany, France, Greece, and the UK; from the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates. Standout countries from Asia include India, China, Japan, Thailand, and Hong Kong. The most significant growth is observed in China (+188%), Japan (+44%), Colombia (+38%), Brazil (+36%), and France (+25%). New entries at Vicenzaoro include Tanzania, El Salvador, and Honduras.
T.Gold, featuring the most advanced machinery for goldsmiths and the latest gold and jewellery applications, organized in partnership with A.F.E.M.O., experienced a 4.7% increase in attendance. The success of VO Vintage, showcasing a 22% increase in exhibitors for vintage watches and jewellery open to the B2C public, with collectors, experts, and watch lovers from Italy and around the world also growing by +13%.
Vicenzaoro opens its doors to education, hosting 23 schools at the fair, mainly from Italy, France, Germany, and the UK, involving approximately 750 students and accompanying personnel in numerous initiatives. In the city's event program, VIOFF, the off-site event of Vicenzaoro, more than 490 students participated in the 20 scheduled events.
2024: THE YEAR OF WORK FOR THE NEW PAVILION
The construction site will open, delivering a new layout to the Vicenza exhibition center for the September 2026 edition. The new 22,000-square-meter pavilion will replace Pavilion 2, the historic "snail" built in 1971, and Pavilion 5, providing more space for exhibitors and better navigation for visitors inside the fair. The investment is approximately 60 million euros, entirely financed by IEG.
Starting from 2025, the Jewellery Agenda of the Italian Exhibition Group will include a new international event: "The Vicenza Symposium," scheduled from September 2 to 4. Vicenza will inherit the scientific legacy of the "Santa Fe Symposium," closed in 2022. The biennial event, focused on a problem-solving approach for companies, is a collaboration between IEG and two leading companies in the T.Gold world: Legor and Xolutions.
Total media contacts exceeded 230 million gross, and professional operator views on the B2B platform The Jewellery Golden Cloud were approximately 260,000 (+30% compared to VOJ23). Vicenzaoro January has confirmed its status as an international reference point for the presence of the entire institutional and associative world, from Confindustria Federorafi, Confartigianato Orafi, Confcommercio Federpreziosi, CNA Orafi, Confimi Industria Categoria Orafa ed Argentiera to Assogemme, Assocoral, and A.F.E.M.O. – Association of Manufacturers Exporters Machinery for Goldsmithing, CIBJO – World Jewellery Confederation, MAECI, and Agenzia ICE. Vicenzaoro invites the community from September 6 to 10, 2024.
