The ‘90s payback
The choker seemed to have gone out of circulation but it re-emerged a couple of years ago and is forcing its way in among the trendiest necklace models for the summer season.
Whatever the version, whether woven plastic thread or in fine strangle-hold gold, the choker is one of the season’s must-haves. The most popular versions are those in gold as worn recently by Rihanna and Chiara Ferragni, while one Versace model worth mentioning was worn by Bella Hadid for the 2018 Spring/Summer Haute Couture fashion show. Lastly, there will also be less valuable and more happy-go-lucky varieties, made with rainbow crystals, like those worn by the singer, Dua Lipa.
Another trend that is as timeless todays as it was years ago is lobe earrings: while on the one hand large jewellery is a must to be worn without hesitation, on the other, smaller models never cease to hold their own particular fascination. Like, for example, those minimal, discreet yet classy lobe earrings that go with any outfit. No particular chromatic combinations are needed to match the dress being worn and, if the wearer wants to be daring, she can choose a particularly flashy, colourful or sparkling pair.
Lastly, if the keyword is to exaggerate, for the warm season we can’t forget to wear a number of large-sized bracelets all on the one arm. These trends have an exotic and ethnic atmosphere reminiscent of the gypsy tradition or Africa with all its charm and mystery. Among multi-strings and colours of every kind, there are also classic and elegant models that aim at sim-plicity with decorations, enamels and stones in pastel shades.
