Summer 2020: the triumph of necklaces
Chains and decisive looks: the must for summer 2020 in terms of fashion and jewellery, amid chain and elegant pearl necklaces interpreted in a modern key.
To this regard, the big global fashion houses dictated the law at the latest fashion weeks. Take, for example, Bottega Veneta which proposes minimal and bold looks featuring precious accessories such as apparently simple chain necklaces to be worn with masculine collars that, with their geometric recall, give the outfits character. And extra-long necklaces will characterize this year’s warm season, as seen on Saint Lauren’s catwalk where fine chains, embellished with lucky charm pendants, were just perfect for the more daring necklines.
Pearl necklaces are back (or rather, back yet again): a great classic (both real or bijoux) that designers have always loved, to be worn today in an unconventional manner, for example, matched with rope. And then there are also twisted necklaces, items that play with curvilinear structures and lie on the collarbones, adorning the neck to provide a little relief and illuminating the face: the semi-precious necklaces proposed by Chloè, worn with large 1960s tortoiseshell sunglasses, are particularly stunning.
Lastly, the necklace trends for summer 2020 also include bib necklaces, embellished with charms or coloured stones. With their unusual and highly individual structure, they replace the silk collar on light shirts or adorn wider, more sophisticated and unusual necklines.
