Pantone 2021: between yellow and gray for a full year of hope
The new long waited for and emblematic Pantone color chosen to leave this unusual and complicated year behind has finally arrived, full of expectations and hopes.
Or, rather, the Pantone colors: yes because, as already happened in 2016 with Serenity and Rose Quartz, a tranquil blue and an embracing rose tone which delineated a "fairytale" year, 2021 will be characterized by the union of an enduring gray, Ultimate Gray (Pantone 17-5104) and a sparkling yellow, Illuminating (Pantone 13-0647). Two positive colors, stable in time, which inspire, as quoted by the US Company, strength and hope.
After 2020 Classic Blue, next year will be outlined by a color combination which reminds us of the typical gray of Northern Europe design, and a vibrant yellow, conveying a message of strength and hopefulness. In a time where people have found themselves trying, in every way, to find energy, hope and clarity to overcome this recurrent phase of uncertainty and doubt, these two shades should be able to infuse, between fashion and design at a full 360 degrees, the right determination to respond to our quest for vitality.
A warming shade of yellow, cheerful and lively, imbued with solar power, and a reliable shade of gray, rock solid and reassuring, but also poised and resilient like the colors of pebbles on the beach and natural elements whose weathered appearance highlights an ability to stand the test of time.
