Luisa Rosas: between design and nature
"Creativity as genuine and inevitable expression”: this is Luisa Rosas’s motto, a designer born in northern Portugal, whose family boasts a longstanding goldsmith tradition. A guest in the ICON district at Vicenzaoro January 2019, Luisa Rosas closeness to the jewellery world and the tools used by master goldsmiths merge with her creative spirit. A talent born from a love for architecture, an area in which she worked before starting to create items of high jewellery, and from the symbiosis of these two worlds, as well as from her natural taste for lighter shapes and experimentalism.
For Luísa Rosas, jewellery design is not just a natural heritage but also an inevitable way of seeing the world, a consequence of her ability to perceive outlines, movements and textures. This creative attitude is decisive for her highly personal way of observing shapes inspired by nature and for simplifying, rationalizing, geometrizing and producing items of pure creativity and expression.
Her creations are made up of modular and organic structures found in nature based on repetition and patterns, the source of inspiration for her work.
Therefore, every collection is the culmination of total exhaustion, a period of untiring experimentation and an emotional and sensorial effort in which every detail counts. The result is a series of items that begs to be touched. Seasoned pieces, able to stimulate a combination of senses all at once – items that are as unexpected as changes in the universe.
Producing a Lusia Rosas item involves a rigorous selection of gems, based on extremely strict regimes in terms of colour, weight, purity and cut. The production process is carried out by master jewellers – top artists. Every item is therefore a fusion of an idea and a delicate work in which the final touch makes them admirable and unique.
