It all began in 1905 in the heart of the Marias area at 62 rue Charlot in Paris when the young and talented artisan, Marius Legros, decided to create his own costume jewellery line. In 1912, the jeweller joined his family in Saint-Martin-De-Valamas, in the Ardeche valley, where he soon opened his own factory.
Nowadays the Altesse company, one of the largest costume jewellery manufacturers in France, employs over 250 workers, creating and selling gold, silver and gold and silver-plated jewellery in over 60 countries worldwide.
