Italian silk and gold art: that’s what Treesure is
During the much-awaited VIOFF event, the off-show linked to Vicenzaoro, Saturday 22nd September, at 7 pm in the loggia at the Basilica Palladiana, will see the launching of Treesure, the brand created by D’orica, a Vicenza-based company founded in 1989 by husband and wife team, Giampietro Zonta and Daniela Raccanello.
The event, accompanied by a splendid fashion show, a performance and musical composition inspired by silk’s genetic code, will see these globally unique items playing the leading role and representing the only collection to unite gold, the most precious of metals, with Italian silk, the most prestigious of threads. This latter product, which has not been produced in Italy for over 50 years, has been re-established by D’orica after the company acquired a 1960s spinning mill in order to obtain all-Italian silk, certified by the Chamber of Commerce.
This exceptional combination will be the focus of the Treesure presentation, a brand generated from the reconstruction of the entire silk production chain. “At the beginning, people thought we were crazy,” says Zonta, “but we refused to give in to the idea of having to import a raw material that had been a cornerstone of our country for centuries and one of the icons of Italian creativity and excellence. Crazy thus became reality and our company has become international and well known. We will be bringing a collection of about one hundred Treesure models to VICENZAORO September 2018, the result of 4 years’ work and made with 100% Italian silk in various colours, embellished with gold elements and finishings.”
The event idea was devised with the collaboration of dancers/models from Vicenza’s Sinergie Contemporanee and Palladio Danza dancing schools, who will be dancing to “Musica della Seta”, music at 432 Hz created by Stuart Mitchell and Nicholas Caposiena starting from silk’s genetic code.
