BVLGARI, the history, the dream
From a small family business to an established international brand: it is the story of Bvlgari, told in a path of savoir-faire, creativity and innovation.
An entrepreneurial affair that is a real mix of originality, manufacturing excellence and traditions: Bvlgari's is an exemplary case of Made in Italy, of production capacity that combines technique and beauty, passion and talent.
The "BVLGARI, the history, the dream" exhibition in progress until November 3rd 2019 between Castel Sant'Angelo and Palazzo Venezia is dedicated to its success story. Through family anecdotes, commercial strategies and creative insights, the exhibition traces the company's events from its foundation until the 1990s, including brand jewels and creations belonging to private collections.
Emblem of the ancient Italian school of jewelry, Bvlgari has had the ability to renew itself over time, while remaining faithful to that style that makes it unique and recognizable. The story, edited by the historian and sociologist Chiara Ottaviano, is part of a wider investigation on the key factors for the affirmation of fashion and design Made in Italy in the world.
Together with the jewels of the Heritage Collection, some of which are on show for the first time, creations from exclusive private collections are presented, in a narrative path enriched by unpublished archive documents, vintage photos and videos. Besides the precious ones, the high-fashion clothes of the collection of Cecilia Matteucci Lavarini stand out, offering suggestions of the different eras, trends and historical tastes with which the brand confronted.
