6 designers to absolutely watch out for
The Adventurine, a magazine that reports on the jewellery world and its trends, recently compiled a list of 6 names in jewellery design to absolutely bear in mind for the sector’s future.
Starting with Alessandro Sabbatini - SABBA who, going against the marketing rules, does not have an Instagram account and prefers to focus on the quality of his work.
The designer launched his own line in 2014 at just 26 years of age after having worked for Cartier. His collection can only be found at the FD Gallery in the United States and the elegant yet innovative items are inspired by women.
Then there is Emmanuel Tarpin, another Millennial with an ancient soul: after having worked for Van Cleef & Arpels, 2 years ago he launched his capsule collection consisting of large sculptured earrings in aluminium and gold, inspired by nature and using splendid gems as decoration.
Vram, on the other hand, launched his collection in 2016, and since then, has created wonderful jewellery inspired by the world and history of sculpture, worn by stars such as Cate Blanchett and Dua Lipa.
Hanut Singh continues the list of best designers of the moment with his creations that appear to be inspired by a mixture of deco and Indian patterns. Something so new to the market that his items immediately went on the international catwalks and are already adored by celebrities like Meryl Streep and Oprah.
One only has to look at the Prounis collection to understand how fundamental and unique the high jewellery workmanship techniques used are, a tribute to her Greek origins and the elegant New York nightlife of the ‘40s when great-grandfather, Otto, owned a club at the Waldorf Astoria, where none other than Edith Piaf made her debut in America.
Lastly, Paula Mendoza who, with her jewellery brand, pays homage to her Colombia. Her gold jewellery items are inspired by ancient shapes and are, in fact, made by modern Colombian craftsmen. After years of accurate refinement, in 2018 her jewellery seemed to be everywhere among celebrities and influencers.
