Here's how we could summarize the new De Beers project that called 5 jewelry designers to create a truly unique capsule collection.
They are the ReSet Collective, designed by five important US jewelry designers - Jade Trau, Jennie Kwon, Julez Bryant, Sara Weinstock and Zoë Chicco - and capable of offering a new perspective on the positive impact that De Beers natural diamonds create for people places where they are discovered.
The designers involved went to Botswana at the end of 2019 to learn more about the partnership, the diamond group and the local population, discovering with their own eyes how the company is supporting the people involved in the extraction of diamonds and at the same time also for the 'environment.
Inspired by people, wildlife and the wonderful landscapes of Botswana, the jewelery designers designed a diamond pendant each, accompanied, later in the advertising campaign, by the face of the international model Indira Scott, notoriously very attentive to sustainability.
Last but not least, the capsule collection has a charitable purpose: its unique pieces will be auctioned at Sotheby's from 10 to 17 December 2020. Estimates range from $ 20,000 to $ 25,000, with 100% of the final price divided equally. between two charities, Stepping Stones International in Botswana and NAACP Legal Defense Fund in the United States.
