With CIBJO all the world’s jewellery at Vicenzaoro January 2022
CIBJO, the World Confederation of Jewellery, once again chooses Vicenzaoro as the ideal setting for its important appointments.
In fact, on 24 and 25 January, 2022 Vicenzaoro will host the General Assembly of CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, the final session of the CIBJO 2021 Virtual Congress which took place over eight days last November. A hybrid event that will involve 70 international delegates gathered in presence in the Vicenza exhibition centre and which will be broadcast simultaneously in streaming, bringing together stakeholders from all over the world.
The assembly will be a fundamental moment to take stock of the sector and international industrial standards for the sectors of diamonds, coloured stones, pearls, gems laboratories, precious metals, coral and responsible sourcing and will also be an opportunity to present the program of the 'World Jewellery Confederation Education Foundation' (WJCEF) on responsible and sustainable activities in the sector and CIBJO's cooperation with the United Nations.
"We would like to thank IEG and its Vicenza team for their generous offer to host our General Assembly and, in doing so, provide the chance to meet again, face-to-face, after a period of over two years," said CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri. "The COVID pandemic has taught us all how life can continue online but the element of physical interaction is impossible to replace. By developing its hybrid format, Vicenzaoro has pioneered a new way of doing business and we are delighted to be able to take advantage of it. I hope as many members as possible will be able to make the trip to Vicenza in January.”
The long-standing collaboration between CIBJO and IEG, ongoing for over 10 years, bears witness to a joint effort to disseminate the cardinal principles of CSR, transparency, and sustainability, by offering case histories and direct experiences of the highest level. A concrete added value for sector operators, who find a B2B platform of reference for the entire industry in IEG's international events.
In support of this, CIBJO will present two other seminars open to the public on January 23 in the Vicenza Expo centre on topics of inestimable importance such as responsible sourcing, social activism and sustainability in the jewellery sector.
The first, entitled “Emphasising jewellery's positive impact on society, as an integral part of its value proposition” will deal with how, in order to meet the strong demand for fine jewellery and the profound ongoing cultural change, retailers can take action to demonstrate their commitment to meeting consumer expectations by supporting sustainability initiatives and communicating the positive impacts of jewellery on society.
The second, “Innovation and technology in jewellery manufacturing, supporting creativity and driving sustainable impact”, will explore how the increased use of new production technologies is not only enabling higher precision in finished pieces and manufacturing processes but also greater creativity, thus helping to attract a more inclusive and diverse range of jewellery designers and more widespread use of alternative materials.
